Key Changes and Requirements
1. Revised Question Paper Pattern
The question paper pattern for Second Mate (FG) competency examination has been revised to meet STCW 2010 requirements and will be implemented from May 2011. A set of revised patterns is attached for reference.
II/4 Revised Question Paper Pattern
2. Special Provisions for Repeater Candidates
Repeater candidates can appear for "Ship Operation" function in the old pattern in May and July 2011 only. From August 2011, all candidates, including repeaters, must appear for examinations under the revised pattern.
Important Note
Candidates who completed their course under the old syllabus must familiarize themselves with the changes and additions in the new syllabus.
