Commencement of Nautical Grade Examinations (Written and Orals) at Mercantile Marine Department, Kochi

Applicable to: Nautical candidates, particularly from Southern India

Effective Date: July 2010 onwards

Key Changes and Requirements

From July 2010, written and oral examinations for Second Mate (FG) grade will be conducted at the Mercantile Marine Department, Kochi.

Written Exam: Held as per the schedule notified by the Examination center of the Directorate.
Oral Exam: Assessment and booking will commence in June 2010. Capacity - 40 candidates.
Application Transfer: Eligible candidates can transfer their application (Form-15) to MMD Kochi.

Note: Other higher grades (First Mate (FG) and Master (FG)) will be commenced subsequently.
