Key Changes and Requirements
1. Extension of Date for Possessing Valid Passport
The deadline for possessing a valid passport has been extended to 31.12.2009 for crew of sailing vessels.
2. Issuance of Identity Cards
Identity Cards will continue to be issued to crew of sailing vessels applying to respective Regional Officer (Sails), without insisting on the requirement of possession of valid passport.
Regional Officer (Sails) must strictly monitor compliance and facilitate crew in obtaining passports.
