Substitution of function pass to subject pass for Merchant Shipping (Examination for Skippers and Mate of (Fishing Vessels) Rules, 1987 & (Examination of Dredge Masters & Dredge Mates) Amendment Rules, 1993

Passed subjects: Valid for 5 years from the month of passing
Failed subjects: Need to be retaken in the next attempt

Applicable to: Candidates appearing for Skippers and Mate of Fishing Vessels, Dredge Masters and Dredge Mates examinations

Effective Date: 20th September, 2007 onwards

Key Changes and Requirements

Previously, candidates had to repeat all subjects in a part if they failed one. Now, only failed subjects need to be retaken.

Results declared on or after 20.09.2007 will indicate pass/fail in each subject
