Key Changes and Requirements

1. Clarification on Licence Issue Procedure — Section 406 & 407 of the M S Act 1958

Circular No. 3/2006 clarifies the procedure for issuing licences to Indian and Chartered Foreign Flag Vessels under Section 406 and 407 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1958.

  • Age Restrictions: Earlier circulars' age restrictions remain in force.
  • Application: Apply following the existing procedures.
Note:  Circular No. 3/2006 does not supersede any earlier circulars. It should be read in continuation with them.
