Key Changes and Requirements
1. Life Raft Servicing
Life rafts of Indian manufacture with Directorate's type-approval must be serviced only at DGS-approved service stations.
- Indian manufacturer: Allowed self-certification by approved competent person.
- Service station: Must have manufacturer's authorization to service life rafts. Supervision by MMD surveyor is required.
- No authorization: Life rafts can be serviced by any service station under MMD surveyor's supervision.
