Key Changes and Requirements
1. Training and Record Book (TAR) Issuance
Two TAR books will be issued, one for shore and one for afloat training. Workshops will issue these books to candidates.
- Workshops: Responsible for issuing, endorsing, and filling up TAR books.
- Management Representative/Training Manager: Responsible for providing relevant dates on TAR books.
2. Class IV Part A Exemption
Graduate engineers will receive credit for sea time as soon as they become eligible for Class IV Part A exemption after completing training.
- Eligible Date: Date of completing training period on board.
Note: All training institutions and workshops must be informed about these changes.
