Key Changes and Requirements
1. CDC Eligibility
Ex-Coast Guard Ratings up to the age of 45 years are now eligible to obtain a Certificate of Competency (CDC) and join the Merchant Navy.
- Eligible Age: Up to 45 years
- Applicable Rules: Rule 4(2)(iv) of M.S. (CDC) Rules, 2001
2. Recognition of Service
The seagoing service of Coast Guard ratings is recognized at par with Indian Naval ratings.
- Service Recognition: At par with Indian Naval ratings
