Key Changes and Requirements
1. Verification and Endorsement Procedure
Follow these steps for processing applications:
- 1.1 Verify the certificate online.
- 1.2 Take printouts and forward them to the examiner and DG Shipping.
- 1.3 Issue a 3-month endorsement after assessment and verification, followed by orals.
- 1.4 Forward a xerox copy of the endorsement to DG Shipping.
2. Certificate Requirements
Candidates must have passed all functions in the original certificate:
- 2.1 Endorsement should reflect all passed functions.
- 2.2 Part-functional endorsements not accepted, even for NCV applications.
III/4 or III/2 with functions 4,5,6 only - refer to Directorate before action.
Important Note
Ensure the candidate held a valid Class II or Class I certificate under STCW 78 regulation and the CoC is issued by UK and Northern Ireland.
