Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training
All Indian seafarers must complete the mandatory training module on 'Safety Measures for Seafarers' within 6 months from the effective date.
- Training Portal: www.cmmi.co.in
- Deadline: 2024-07-31
2. Certificate of Proficiency
Upon completion of the training, seafarers must obtain a Certificate of Proficiency from the Director General of Shipping.
- Application Portal: dgshipping.gov.in
- Validity: 5 years from the date of issue
II/4 Certificate of Proficiency
Important Note
Failure to obtain the Certificate of Proficiency by the deadline may result in suspension of the seafarer's certificate of competency.
