Addendum to NT branch circular no NT/ISPS /SHIP/03/2009 - Guidelines / Specifications for the Patrol boats

Applicable to: All Indian ship owners, ship operators, and shipyards.

Effective Date: 26th October 2023

Key Changes and Requirements

The following changes have been made to the guidelines for patrol boats:

Material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) can now be used in addition to Steel, Aluminium, Fiberglass.
Propulsion: The engine type has been updated to include 'Inboard Screw Diesel Engine stern drive or conventional direct shaft drive propulsion system to attain speed of not less than 20 knots.'

Note: All other guidelines remain unchanged.

Important Note

Ship owners and shipyards are advised to comply with these changes immediately to avoid any delays in operations.
