Key Changes and Requirements
1. University Affiliation Mandatory
MTIs conducting B.Sc. (Nautical Science), Diploma in Nautical Science, B.E. (Marine Engineering) courses must have affiliation from a recognized university.
- MoU not allowed: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or any other form of recognition will not be accepted.
- Deadline: MTIs must obtain affiliation within one year from the issuance of this order or by academic year 2024-25.
2. Review and Consequences
The Directorate will review the affiliation status of MTIs after one year from the issuance of this order.
- Non-compliance: MTIs without affiliation to a recognized university will not be allowed to admit candidates for these degree courses.
- Approval lapse: Approval for these degree courses shall be considered deemed lapsed for non-compliant MTIs.
Important Note
MTIs are advised to comply with the given directives to avoid any disruption in their approval status for the mentioned degree courses.
