Re-Opening of Maritime Training Institutes under controlled conditions and further relaxation in the issued SOP for Pre-Sea and Post-Sea
Key Changes and Requirements
1. Re-opening of MTIs and Capacity Increase
MTIs can now conduct physical classes with 100% approved capacity for both Pre-Sea and Post-Sea courses. Practical training, including use of swimming pools/water bodies and hospital visits, is also allowed with 100% capacity.
2. Simulator Courses and Exit Exams
Simulator courses can be conducted with 100% capacity. Exit exams must be taken at the MTI premises on the last date of theory, with candidates appearing from the same MTI for each attempt.
- Exit Exam: MTIs must arrange an examination hall with sufficient computers/laptops and IP cameras, ensuring multiple face detections are avoided.
- IP Addresses: MTIs must fill in Annexure 1 and mail it to training-dgs@nic.in;info@dgsexams.in to enable multiple users per IP address.
3. Digital Certificates and Candidate Profiles
MTIs must generate a single, final digitally signed course completion certificate through the DG Shipping e-governance system. MTIs must also ensure candidate profiles are updated with the latest photo, signature, discipline, passport, and other details before uploading batch details for the course.
MTIs must comply with all issued guidelines and any further orders/SoP/Guidelines issued by the Government of India or the State Government/local authorities within their jurisdiction.
