Tonnage Tax Cell Circular No. 01 of 2020 - Extension of Due Date for filing Tonnage Tax Returns for the year 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic

Applicable to: All tonnage tax opted companies

Effective Date: 23.04.2020 onwards

Key Changes and Requirements

1. Extended Due Dates

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the following due dates have been extended:

Basic Training Commitment (BTC) for FY 2020-21: Extended to 30.06.2020 (from 30.04.2020)
Annual Adjustment Return for FY 2019-20: Extended to 30.06.2020 (from 30.04.2020)
Annual Return for FY 2019-20: Extended to 15.07.2020 (from 15.05.2020)

2. Late Submission Charges

Late submission charges of Rs. 10,000 per week will be levied for delays in submission of BTC, Annual Adjustment, and Annual Return. This charge will be applicable only if the extended due dates are not met.

3. Applicability and Contact

These extensions are applicable only for the respective financial years mentioned above and will be effective till further notice from DGS. For any queries, please contact:
