Key Changes and Requirements

The Directorate General of Shipping is introducing an online module for issuing and renewing seamen identity cards (Sails).

Immigration authorities are requested to accept and deem valid expired ID cards issued before 2020.

Important Note

This circular is issued with the approval of the Director General of Shipping and Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
