Key Changes and Requirements
1. Clarification on Listing Non-GMDSS Equipment
The Ministry of Communications has clarified that currently, only Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) equipment fitted on board Indian vessels needs to be listed in the 'Mobile Station License'.
- Non-GMDSS equipment: VSAT equipment, other voice and data services equipment
- Requirement: No listing in 'Mobile Station License' until further notice from Ministry of Communications
Note: This clarification is subject to change based on future orders/instructions from the Ministry of Communications.
