Updating latest CIP grading of Maritime Training Institutes.

Key Changes and Requirements

1. Online CIP Grading Update

MTIs are now required to update their CIP grading records online.

  1. Procedure: Follow the steps outlined on the DGS website (dgshipping.gov.in) under the 'e-Governance' tab.
  2. Deadline: MTIs must update their last CIP grading by 31/03/2019 and subsequently within 15 days of each CIP inspection.

2. New MTIs and CIP Inspection

  • New Pre-Sea MTIs: Must undertake CIP inspection within 15 months of approval.
  • New Post-Sea MTIs: Must undertake CIP inspection within 15 months of approval for competency courses.
  • New MTIs for Basic STCW Courses: Must undertake CIP inspection within 6 months of approval.
  • In-Principle Approved MTIs: Are not required to undertake CIP inspections.
Important Note

MTIs that do not comply with CIP inspection requirements may face disciplinary action, including suspension and denial of access to the e-governance portal.
