Special Training Requirements for Personnel on Tankers
1. New Training Requirements
Seafarers with immediate cargo-related responsibilities on tankers must now hold certificates in advanced training for relevant tanker operations (oil, chemical, or liquefied gas).
- Applicable Ratings: Pump-man, others with cargo-related duties
- Required Training: Advanced Training for Tanker (Oil, Chemical, or Liquefied Gas)
2. Eligibility Criteria
- Sea Service: Three months approved sea-going service on relevant tankers
- Basic Training: Completed CoP (Level 1) in basic training for relevant tanker operations
II/4 Regulation V/1-1-1 and V/1-2-1 of STCW 78 Convention
