Key Changes and Requirements
1. Eligibility for Fresh CDC
Indian seafarers holding restricted CDCs issued under the old Merchant Shipping (CDC) Rules, 2001 can now apply for a fresh CDC under the new Merchant Shipping (CDC) Rules, 2017 if they meet the eligibility criteria.
- Eligibility: 10th Standard pass and 5 STCW courses
2. Application Process
Seafarers need to apply to the Shipping Master concerned for cancellation of their restricted CDC and grant of fresh CDC under the new rules.
