Key Changes and Requirements
1. New Institutes — Pre-sea courses
New institutes must have a swimming pool within their campus with minimum dimensions of 50 feet length, 30 feet breadth, and depth varying from 3 to 12 feet.
2. Existing Institutes (Pre-sea) — Deadline: 31st August 2018
Existing institutes must have a swimming pool by the given deadline with the same minimum dimensions. Till then, tie-up arrangements with other institutes are allowed.
3. Existing Institutes (Pre-sea) — Shallow Pools
Institutes with pools less than 12 feet deep can have tie-up arrangements for PST training.
4. Other Institutes — PST Courses
Other institutes must have a pool or tie-up arrangement for PST training with the same minimum dimensions.
Institutes in areas with state restrictions on pool depth can have tie-up arrangements.
