India News Live Updates, 16 October 2026: Abhijeet Dipke, Neha Bora detained, 2,000 CJP protesters around Delhi’s CP

Live updates from India on 16 October 2026 include the detention of activists Abhijeet Dipke and Neha Bora, who were protesting against the recent farm laws. Around 2,000 protesters from the Civil Liberties Party (CJP) gathered around Delhi's Connaught Place to express their solidarity with the farmers' agitation.

The protests, which began last year, have gained momentum in recent weeks with farmers from various states joining the movement. The government has maintained that the new laws are in the best interest of farmers, but the protesters have rejected this claim.
