China adds new state-owned shipbuilding player in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, a major Chinese shipbuilding hub, has launched a new state-owned maritime industrial group to expand manufacturing capacity and bring more of the industry's supply chain under local ownership. The company, Guangzhou Marine Equipment Group, has started operations with registered capital of RMB2bn ($300m).
