Key Changes and Requirements
1. Update CoC Notes Page
The notes on the front pastedown endpaper page of your CoC should be updated to reflect the changes in STCW 2010 amendments.
- Old Note: "The original of this certificate must be kept available in accordance with Regulation I/2, paragraph 9 of the Convention while serving on a ship".
- New Note: "The original of this certificate must be kept available in accordance with Regulation I/2, paragraph 11 of the Convention while serving on a ship".
2. CoC Stamping
If your CoC has been upgraded to comply with the 2010 amendments but still bears the old note, you should approach your nearest Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) to get your CoC stamped with the new note.
No additional fees will be charged for this service.
Important Note
Failure to update your CoC notes or obtain the necessary stamp may lead to issues during Port State Control inspections.
