Key Changes and Requirements
1. Service Station Authorization
Service stations can now service all life-saving appliances, launching appliances, and on-load release gears, subject to certain conditions.
- OEM Authorized Stations: Can self-certify servicing, including a copy of the valid OEM authorization.
- Non-OEM Authorized Stations: Must have necessary spares and require surveyors' verification for compliance with applicable standards.

Important Note
Non-compliance may result in penalties under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
