Key Changes and Requirements
1. Certificate Format Update
The requirement of entering the candidate's passport number on the Certificate of Proficiency has been removed.
- New Format: The certificate will now be issued without the passport number and logo of the Facilitation Centers.
- Passport Copy: Facilitation centers must collect a self-authorized copy of the passport from the candidate and retain it with the candidate's application for record and verification purposes.

Important Note
Seafarers should ensure that the passport number mentioned in their Seafarers Certificate of Proficiency matches the one in their passport to avoid objections from inspectors, especially in West African countries.
