Key Changes and Requirements
1. Increase in Indian Tonnage
Target is to increase Indian tonnage to 13 million GT by 2015-16.
- Absolute Increase: 12.00 million GT
- Relative Increase: 1.57% share of world tonnage
2. Regulatory Framework Uploading
Target is to ratify international conventions and formulate new MS Rules.
- Ratification: 6 instruments deposited with ILO/IMO
- Formulation: 3 new MS Rules formulated
3. Training Capacity Increase
Target is to increase Indian training berths to 1,150 by 2014-15.
- Increase: 1,053 to 1,150 berths
Note: Flag State Inspections target revised to 75 for 2013-14 due to introduction of General Inspection regime.
