Modification/simplification of CDC application form and its issuance - reg.

Key Changes and Requirements
1. Simplified CDC Application Process
The CDC application process has been further simplified and made completely online.
- Online Form: Form 1 and Form 2 are merged into one online Form 1
- Document Upload: Supporting documents, photograph, and fee payment can be done online
- Renewal & Duplicate/CDCs: Online application for renewal CDCs is now available. Duplicate/CDCs will be available by end August 2015
- Fee Payment: Payment can be made through debit/credit card or net banking
- CDC Dispatch: CDC booklets will be dispatched by speed post. Fee includes postage and envelope cost
2. Mandatory Security Training
Security Training for Seafarers with designated security duties (STSDSD) or Ship Security Officer (SSO) course is now mandatory for obtaining a CDC.
3. CDC Issuance and Distribution
CDCs issued to MTI trainees will be dispatched to the respective MTIs and handed over to trainees upon successful completion of their pre-sea training course(s). Unsuccessful candidates must return the CDC to the Shipping Master's office.

Failure to comply with these new regulations may result in delayed or denied CDC issuance.
