1. Review of CIP Checklist
A Study Group has been formed to review the Comprehensive Inspection Program (CIP) Checklist for Pre-Sea training institutes. The Group will review the weightages of the 5 Key Parameters and suggest necessary changes.
- Parameters: Infrastructure, Faculty & Quality of Training, Student Development, On-board Training Records, Overall Performance & Management
- Current Weightages: 25%, 20%, 15%, 20%, 20% respectively
2. Study Group Composition and TOR
The Study Group comprises experienced professionals from the shipping industry and is headed by Capt. J.S. Uppal, Principal Officer, MMD, Mumbai. Its terms of reference include reviewing CIP Guidelines, grading of MTIs, parity in grading, and suggesting changes to the CIP document.
- Deadline: 15.11.15
MTIs should ensure they update batch details and placement details online to avoid high grading with no correlation to DGS Guidelines.
