Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training
All Indian seafarers must complete the Mandatory Short Safety Training Course (MSSTC).
- Duration: 40 hours
- Validity: 5 years
- Training Providers: Approved by DG Shipping
II/4 Mandatory Short Safety Training Course (MSSTC) approved providers
2. Compliance and Penalties
Failure to comply may result in:
- Seafarers: Denial of employment on Indian flag vessels
- Companies: Fines and/or suspension of operations
