Key Changes and Requirements
1. Guidelines for Reception Facilities — Marpol Annex IV
Ports, terminals, and shipyards must provide adequate reception facilities for ship-generated waste as per Marpol Annex IV.
- Facilities: Slop tanks, bilge tanks, garbage, and other waste reception facilities.
- Accessibility: Facilities should be accessible and clearly marked.
- Capacity: Facilities should have sufficient capacity to handle waste from ships.
II/4 Reception facilities should be provided free of charge to ships.
Important Note
Non-compliance may result in penalties as per Marpol regulations.
