Clarification to Training Cir No. 10 of 2013 - Pertaining to conversion of DNS capacity to G. P. Rating.

Applicable to: Maritime Training Institutes, Indian Maritime University, and other relevant bodies
Effective Date: 27.06.2013
Superseded Circulars: Training Circular No. 10 of 2013

Key Changes and Requirements

1. Clarification on Course Conversion

The term "Diploma level officer courses" in Training Circular No. 10 of 2013 refers specifically to the Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) course, not other courses with similar names.

  • Only annual intake of DNS Course can be converted to G.P. Rating Course.

2. Partial Conversion and Suspension

Institutes that requested partial conversion of their DNS capacity will not be entertained. However, they may voluntarily suspend such capacity and resume admissions for subsequent batches as originally approved.

Important Note

Institutes are advised to intimate the Directorate and the jurisdictional MMD regarding any voluntary suspension or resumption of admissions.
