Key Changes and Requirements
1. Faculty Requirement Amendment
The STCW Circular No. 1 of 2013 has been amended regarding the faculty requirement for the Ship Security Officer Course.
- Change: The faculty can now be an expert with specialized knowledge and training in maritime security matters, in addition to those who would teach the relevant topics.

This amendment is issued with the approval of the Director General Shipping and ex-officio Addl. Secretary to Government of India under Rule 47 of Merchant Shipping [STCW] Rules, 1998.
