Key Changes and Requirements

1. Initial Assignment of Loadline for New Construction Vessels

IRS (Indian Register of Shipping) shall approve all plans, drawings, booklets, manuals, etc., and carry out initial surveys for issuance of full term loadline certificate for new constructions and flag changes.

2. Renewal Loadline Surveys

Any Recognised Organization (RO) can undertake renewal loadline surveys. An interim certificate for up to five months can be issued, with the full term certificate to be issued by IRS upon receiving the RO's report.

3. Annual Loadline Surveys

Any RO can undertake annual loadline surveys and endorse the loadline certificate. The RO shall forward the report to IRS for record updating.
