Key Changes and Requirements
1. Extension of Ban
The ban on new approvals and increase in intake capacity of GP Rating Course and Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC) has been extended for 2 years, effective 12 May, 2013, and valid until 11 May, 2015.
2. Exception for North-East States and Lakshadweep
Proposals from North-East States and Lakshadweep for new approvals or increased intake, not having any DGS approved institute, may be considered on merit and as per industry requirements.
3. Conversion of Officer Course Intake
MTIs can convert annual intake of Diploma level officer courses to GP Rating Course, subject to capping of overall annual intake capacity and review by the Directorate.
