Key Changes and Requirements
1. Application Process
Indian seafarers (Cooks) can now apply by post for a Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a cook using the existing form (DG Shipping Order No. 07 of 2013) along with a self-attested copy of their Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC).
- Application Form: DG Shipping Order No. 07 of 2013
- Documents Required: Self-attested copy of CDC
- Application Offices: Shipping Master’s Office at Mumbai, Kolkata, or Chennai
2. CoC Cancellation
If the sea service certificate provided by the applicant is found to be non-genuine, the Shipping Master will cancel the CoC after giving the CoC holder an opportunity to be heard.
Important Note
This order is effective immediately and remains in force until further orders.
