Key Changes and Requirements
1. ECDIS Training Mandatory
All navigational officers serving on vessels fitted with ECDIS must undergo DGS-approved ECDIS course before obtaining or revalidating their STCW 2010 Certificate of Competency.
- Deadline: 31 December 2016
- Exemption: Officers serving exclusively on ships not fitted with ECDIS
II/4 ECDIS course approved by DGS
Important Note
Failure to comply may result in non-renewal of CoC and loss of sea service.
