Key Changes and Requirements
1. Course Curriculum Update
The course curriculum for the One Year Marine Engineering Course (12 Months Shore Based Training) has been revised to comply with the 2010 Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention.
- Course Duration: 1798 teaching hours
- Course Objective: To impart training for safe engineering watch keeping and to develop quality Marine Engineers.

2. Transitional Provisions
Candidates starting Pre-Sea courses after 1st July 2012 will follow the revised curriculum. Those starting before will need to upgrade their course as applicable.
