Key Changes and Requirements
1. TAR Book Requirements
Trainee Engineers and Engineer Officers must carry their Training and Assessment Record (TAR) books for endorsement during sea service.
- Compliance: Produce approved and endorsed TAR books during examination eligibility assessment.
- Non-compliance: Candidates may be asked to repeat sea time or have their case decided by the Examiner of Engineers.
2. TAR Book Assessment
Incomplete, improperly endorsed, or poorly completed TAR books will be assessed by the Examiner of Engineers.
MMD District Examiners will implement these instructions.

Companies should ensure trainees and officers comply with these instructions to avoid penalties.
