Key Changes and Requirements
1. New Reporting Format
The IMO has standardized a reporting format for marine casualties and incidents. A copy of the IMO circular and the reporting format (Annex 1 - 10) is enclosed.
- IMO Circular: MSC-MEPC.3/Circ.3
- Annexures: Annex 1 - 10
2. Submission of Reports
The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) officer should fill out the Annexures (1 to 10) and forward them along with the Preliminary Inquiry report to facilitate submission to the IMO's 'online' system.
Important Note
Failure to submit the Annexures may delay the investigation and reporting process.
