Key Changes and Requirements
1. e-Module for Examination System
The e-module for examination system, under 'e'Samudra' project, has been developed to facilitate seafarers for applying 'online' for assessment and seat booking.
- Pilot Run: The e-module was put on 'pilot run' for Chief Engineer Officer (MEO Class I) examinations from March 2010.
- Live Functioning: The e-module has been functioning 'live' since September 2010 for Chief Engineer Officer examinations.
2. Manual Application Form Changes
Manual application form (Form 15) for assessment/seat booking for Chief Engineer Officer will not be accepted except in contingencies.
- Second Engineer Officer: 'Online' submission of application form (Form 15) for Second Engineer Officer (MEO Class II, Part 'A' & 'B') has been completed. It will be put on 'pilot run' from 1.6.2011.
- Procedure: Fresh candidates can apply 'online' for assessment and seat booking from any internet connection. Repeater candidates must submit 'online' applications at the examination center.
Annex 1 provides the salient functional features of this e-module.
Important Note
Candidates are advised to approach respective examination centers for resolving any difficulties being encountered during submission of 'online' application during the 'pilot run' phase.
