Key Changes and Requirements
1. Approved Medical Examiners
The Directorate General of Shipping has approved 204 medical examiners for various ports and hinterland locations.

2. Renewal and Validity
Approved medical examiners up to the age of 65 years do not need to renew their approval. Those exceeding 65 years can extend their approval as per Merchant Shipping Notice 23 of 2010.
The validity of approval is subject to timely submission of periodical returns and compliance with relevant rules and procedures.
