Key Changes and Requirements
1. Revalidation Requirements
In addition to course completion, candidates must meet one of the following criteria within five years of application:
- A-1: One year of approved seagoing service
- A-2: Equivalent service in marine-related industry
- A-3: Pass oral examination for revalidation
- A-4: Complete approved course (Preparatory + Simulator)
- A-5: 3 months of approved seagoing service in supernumerary capacity
- A-6: 3 months of approved seagoing service in one rank lower
2. Application Procedure
Candidates can apply 18 months after issuance of CoC. Application should include:
- A-1: Proof of service (sea/shore)
- A-2: Copy of endorsed pages of Hard Cover CoC
Examiner will acknowledge receipt, intimate any deficiencies, and revalidate CoC upon verification.
II/4 Revalidation Course Duration
Refresher & Updating Course: 4 days
Revalidation Course: 10 days
