Key Changes and Requirements
1. Online Verification of Certificate of Competency
The verification of Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued to officers can now be done online.
- Procedure: Access DG Shipping website, click on "Certificate of Competency checker" link, and follow instructions.
2. Online INDoS Application
Online application for INDoS numbers is now available.
- Procedure: Access DG Shipping website, click on "INDoS online application" link, and follow instructions.
- Eligibility: Individual seafarers or training institutes can apply on behalf of candidates. Institutes may charge a nominal fee of Rs. 100/- per candidate.
Notice to Employers: All employers must ensure that seafarers possess INDoS No. and verify CoC authenticity on DG Shipping website.
Important Note
Manual applications for INDoS will not be accepted from 14th November, 2008. Online INDoS No. issuance without hard copy documents is planned in the future.
