Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Co-requisites
Two co-requisites are mandatory for all marine engineering trainees:
- Mentorship: Carried out by the Institute of Marine Engineers (IME). Mentor's report is a credit point for Certificate of Competency (CoC) exam.
- Membership: Of a relevant professional body (e.g., IME) must be demonstrated at CoC exam.
2. Compliance and Reporting
Compliance with both co-requisites must be reported annually to the Chief Examiner of Engineers and the Training Department.

Important Note
Mentoring programs must also be initiated for new faculty to achieve their aptitude for teaching/training.
