1. Verification of Certificates of Competency
Indian Shipping Companies, FOSMA, and MASSA are advised to verify the authenticity of Certificates of Competency (CoC) of new officers they employ.
- Action: Ensure CoC is genuine and lawfully possessed by the officer.
Note: Failure to verify CoC may result in embarrassment and inconvenience if a forged certificate is discovered by foreign administrations.
