Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training for Seafarers — STCW Convention
All Indian seafarers must complete the mandatory training courses as per the STCW Convention by 2025.
- Training Courses: Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, etc.
- Deadline: 31 December 2025
- Training Providers: Approved training providers listed on DG Shipping
II/4 List of Approved Training Providers
Important Note
Failure to comply with the training requirements may result in suspension of certificate of competency.
