Key Changes and Requirements
1. New Training Requirements — STCW 2010 amendments
The Government of India has adopted the amendments to the STCW Convention 2010.
- Key Changes: Updated training requirements for seafarers, including new courses and refresher training.
- Compliance: All Indian seafarers must comply with the new training requirements by 1st January 2025.
2. Mandatory Online Training — DGS Portal
The Directorate General of Shipping has made online training mandatory for all Indian seafarers.
- Portal: DGS Portal
- Courses: Includes mandatory and elective courses for various ratings and officers.

Important Note
Non-compliance with the new training requirements may result in suspension of certificate of competency.
