Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training — STCW Convention
All seafarers must complete mandatory training as per STCW Convention. Training providers must be approved by the Director General of Shipping.
- Training Providers: Approved by DGS
- Training Courses: Mandatory as per STCW Convention
2. Company Safety Statement
Companies must prepare and implement a safety statement. It should include measures to ensure safety of seafarers and ships.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in penalties as per the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
