Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training and Certification — STCW Convention
All Indian seafarers must obtain the following certificates:
- II/1: Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
- II/2: Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats
- III/1: Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
- IV/1: Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
II/4 Proficiency in Medical Care
2. Application Process
Applications for the above-mentioned certificates should be submitted online through the CMMI portal.
Important Note
Failure to obtain the required certificates may result in suspension or cancellation of the seafarer's certificate of competency.
