The Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy (SBFAP) provides financial aid to Indian Shipyards for procuring international shipbuilding orders.
- Eligibility: Shipbuilding contracts signed between April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2026.
- Application: Online at www.shipbuilding.nic.in
- Assistance Rate: Varies based on vessel type and propulsion method (see guidelines).
2. Green Fuelled Vessels
The policy promotes green fuelled vessels by providing additional financial assistance.
- Green Fuels: Methanol, Ammonia, Hydrogen fuel cells (30% assistance).
- Electric/Hybrid Propulsion: (20% assistance).
